Hop on the school bus, head to the strip club
By Jon Whiten for AAN • June 5th, 2007
On Friday night (June 15) from 8 pm - 1 am, you can take “BarFly’s Mystery Strip Bar Bus Tour” on a real-live school bus. That school buses are being used to take folks to strip clubs has apparently ruffled some feathers in Portland, as this local TV news story illustrates, in that wonderfully breathless way that only local TV news can. (Be sure to watch the video for full effect.)
Here are the event details:
Shave those palms and get ready for a titillating night of 100-percent pure Portland voyeurism. Take a tour of Portland’s infamous all-nude revues. Your hostess will be Jen Lane, professional bon vivante and Portland party queen. The BarFly Bus is a great way to get to know Portland, make new drinking buddies, and get over all those traumatic childhood school bus memories at the same time (yes, the BarFly Bus is a big, yellow, school bus!). You’ll have a blast on the Bus. Tour begins following the Wieden + Kennedy party. To register, simply pay the $15 cover (cash or check) at the AAN registration desk in the Hilton.

Will we be stopping at DV8? I’ve heard rumors that a) there’s no cover, b) it’s ALL nude, c) the DVA Club sammie is to die for, d) $1.50 PBRs. Yes, you’ve said that drinking PBRs for irony is no longer cool, but I’ve been drinking them for so long now that I actually like it. Is that ok, hipster Portland?

I have a PBR belt buckle. Does that make me way lamer or way cooler than you?

It depends on if you wear it ironically or to hold your pants up.

josh…my friend,
a) you pretty much described all the titty bars in Portland.
b) you really should go to these places for food.
c) again you pretty much described all the titty bars in Portland.
If you want to check out some of the “talent” at one of the clubs we’ll be checking out, then check out the cover story at wweek.com.
start saving your ones,

For the record, the PBR comment was mine. And I purloined it from somplace else.
